Rogoznica, Croatia - holiday information

Rogoznica, Croatia – visitor information

Rogoznica is a small coastal settlement that emerged on an old island of Kopara which was connected with the mainland by an artificial bank in the 19th century. Its territory has been populated since antiquity, and some archaeologist think that it grew on the place of the Greek colony Heraclea. Rogoznica takes pride in its beaches. From gravely ones that are suitable for vacationing with children to rocky and concrete ones as well as those hidden in coves. While vacationing you can take part in classical water sports such as sailing and diving or more modern ones like jet ski driving. This sport offer is enriched with a fencing school in the organization of the fencing club Galeb Grafoplast. Apart for the crystal clear sea and its beautiful beaches Rogoznica will astonish you with its cultural and natural heritage. For the most part it is covered with a thick pine forest which also has a boardwalk along the sea. The peninsula Gradina is beautified by the lake Zmajevo oko where fresh water mixes with sea water and it’s because of this why it attracts so many visitors.

Also, be sure to take a look at the little churches of Sv. Nikola (St. Nicholas), Sv. Ivana Trogirskog (St. John of Trogir) and Gospe od Kapelice (Lady of Chapel). Like in most coastal towns, the summer months in the centre are hot spots for a variety of cultural manifestations and other entertaining festivities. You can taste Dalmatian cuisine in one of the many restaurants and taverns that have fish and meat specialities in their daily offer as well as fresh vegetables from local grocers and producers. Our recommendations are that you visit restaurants Antonijo,  Atrium and Siesta. And Zmajevo oko is our choice among bars and cocktail bars. If you are interested in an all night long party then we recommend the well known Aurora discotheque in the nearby Primosten (10 km away). One more reason why Rogoznica is such an attractive place is because of its well known marina Frapa,  which is one of the most beautiful ones on the Adriatic and every year it attracts more and more yachtsmen.
